Date puree sweetener is a healthy alternative to artificial sweeteners with additional beneficence.
Dates are considered a ‘low impact’ or Low GI source of sweetness but of more importance, it has been shown to have a positive influence on your microbiome, supporting the growth of organisms that can help with weight control (Bacteroides).
Regular consumption of dates may also reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Ingredients
100 g pitted dates, finely chopped
250 ml of boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (not essence, it can be bitter)
Method
Soak the dates in the water overnight.
Juice using an immersion blender or juicer. Add the vanilla extract.
